How it started
Pruftnet began as an academic project at the Technische Hochschule Nürnberg and grew into an open-source tool for network engineers, security researchers and anyone who wants to understand what crosses their network.
Version 0.2 is a rewrite. The capture engine moved to a native C++ worker that writes every packet to disk before analysis, so the application can account for each one. The earlier 0.1 generation, with its topology graph and workflow builder, remains available in the archive.
Who builds it
Pruftnet is created and maintained by Wilson Tenepo, a software developer with more than six years of experience building applications, currently at Siemens AG.
Open source
The code is released under the MIT License. Issues, ideas and pull requests are welcome on GitHub.
